What is Reborning and Newborning ?

Exemples

JUSTIN
I had to work on a tiny preemie, Justin, a Paradise Valley doll that had been sold on Ebay as a reborn. Since she was a little disappointed with her purchase, her owner wanted me to improve him.
I first started the reborning process by removing the wig. The problem was that I accidently pulled off most of the top of his head at the same time, because the system that kept the head in place was quite unusual!!! I had to sculpt a new head cap, in polymer clay, then I painted the doll and created another wig.

LOU
Lou is a doll made by the talented artist Pat Moulton for Paradise Galleries. I really liked her face, but I wasn't happy with his proportions, so I had to make a new doe suede cloth body.

ROMAN
I immediately saw that Roman, a very rare Jesmar sculpture, had great potential. I really enjoyed reborning him, and the final result is awesome. See more pictures in the workshop and in the nursery.
